Can rabbits eat pineapple?

Can I feed my Rabbit pineapple?

Mmmmmm….the taste of nice fresh pineapple.  But can rabbits eat pineapple?

Fresh pineapple is not poisonous to them and when fed in moderation can be a good treat for your bunny.  However, you need to be careful especially if you happen to have a bunny that decides they just LOVE pineapple.

You see, we’ve got to make a caution here, because there’s one thing to keep in mind when feeding most all fruit (pineapple included).  And that is that pineapple and other fruits are high in sugar, and when the sugary stuff is fed too often, or fed too much in one serving, it’s no good for your bunnies digestive system (which is designed for a high fiber, low sugar diet.).

And remember, the most important thing you can provide to your rabbit is to make sure a fresh supply of high quality timothy hay, fresh water changed daily, as well as quality rabbit pellets.  Do this right and you’ll be on your way to a more healthy and happy rabbit.

So, back to the question…can rabbits eat pineapple?

Yes, you can feed pineapple to your rabbit. Just be sure to keep it limited.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and till next time, love those bunnies!
